If you love what we’re doing,
high-five girls with your donation!
We all know a girl who could benefit from Girls on the Run®. They‘re our friends’ and neighbors‘ kids, nieces, our little sisters, and our own daughters. For five years, we’ve been changing the lives of girls in the Capital Area who grow up to become positive, motivated women who rule their own lives — maybe even someday the world. For a few bucks, you enable girls to participate in this amazing after-school program centered around running designed to develop healthy habits, positive self-image, and teamwork that culminates in accomplishing a 5K at the end of each season. Your donation helps fund Girls on the Run® programs in area schools along with gear for the girls, training for their coaches and more. If you love what we’re doing, high-five us with your donation.
Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.
Our dynamic curriculum creatively integrates running games and workouts with lessons that help girls celebrate their strengths, build healthy relationships, and connect with the community. Girls are given the tools to make positive decisions when faced with life’s challenges. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing an appreciation of health and fitness.
The program is offered at partner schools throughout Dauphin, Cumberland, and Perry Counties. Each 10-12 week season, held in the spring and fall, culminates with a celebratory 5K running event.
